This is our first full week in Kindergarten for 2015!   We will continue to review our alphabet and letter sounds.  Practice identifying beginning, middle and ending sounds at home (Parents ask your child what letters words begin or end with and what letters they hear in the middle.  For example what does bat start with? What vowel do you hear? What letter does bat end with?).  Keep reviewing your sight words.  They help you become a better reader! January homework calendars will go home Monday. We are starting a new unit in Math on Geometry and Measurement.  Look around for different shapes.  What do you see?  How are apples and balls similar? Library is Thursday.  We have Buddy Reading and Show and Tell on Friday.  Have a great week! 

Happy New Year!  It's going to be a cold week so make sure you bundle up! brrrr!  I hope everyone had a restful and fun break!  I can't wait to hear all about it!   There will be no homework this week. January calendars and new sight words will be sent home next week.  This week, you can practice October, November and December sight words and review your letter sounds.   Keep writing stories at home.  If you write a cool story, feel free to bring it in to share with your friends.   In Math, we will be finishing up our unit on numbers to 5.   Library is Thursday.
