Math 8

We reviewed and continued working on the Pythagorean Theorem.  Students also completed their formative assessment on Section 1.5.  The concept reinforcement (a.k.a. homework) for tonight is on page 43 - #3, #4 and #5.  You can see today’s lesson in detail in the pdf file below.

Math 7

Today, we reviewed terminating and periodic decimals and how to represent them as fractions.  We then began Section 3.2 of the unit which teaches students how to compare and order fractions and decimal numbers.  The concept reinforcement (a.k.a. homework) for tonight is to complete Example 2 from class today using Example 1.  Also, several students did not complete Friday’s concept reinforcement (page 89 - #5, #6, #9 and #10), so they have been given the opportunity to do so tonight.  I will re-check tomorrow.  You can see today’s lesson in detail in the pdf file below.

Math 6

We continued discussing decimal numbers and how to represent them in a variety of ways (in a table, with words, symbolically and using expanded notation).  The concept reinforcement (a.k.a. homework) for tonight is on page 91 - #3, #4 and #5.  Also, many students did not complete Friday’s concept reinforcement (pages 90 and 91 - #1 and #2), so they have been given the opportunity to do so tonight.  I will re-check tomorrow.  You can see today’s lesson in detail in the pdf file below.

Science 7

We reviewed procedure writing when it comes to science experiments, especially the use of the imperative verb tense.  We then did an activity in which students were required to use the imperative verb tense.  There is no homework.

Science 6

We began discussing procedure writing when it comes to science experiments, especially the importance of verbs and specific details / word choice.  We also discussed the imperative verb tense, which is used in scientific procedures, in greater detail.  Finally, we began preparing for an activity I hope to do in class next Monday that will require students to use the imperative verb tense.  There is no homework.  You can see today’s lesson in detail in the pdf file below.
