Danika's Cut for Furry Friends

Our very own Danika (2B) is donating her hair to the Cancer Society on September 25.  This is the second time Danika has donated her hair!!!  She is hoping to raise money from the cut to help the Miramichi SPCA.  Her goal is to raise $300.00.  You can sponsor Danika's Cut for Furry Friends at www.gofundme.com/c47yjuwkw.  Way to be a bucketfiller, Danika!!!

Homework - Week of September 14

All homework is assigned on Monday and is due back in class on Friday, unless otherwise noted.Reading: Students will bring home a bag of 2 levelled texts and two "Good Fit" books that they have selected themselves. They should read for at least 10 minutes nightly.  Remember, it is not uncommon for students to regress a level or two temporarily after summer vacation. Spelling: Students will write a test each Friday. Reading Comprehension: "New Year's Resolutions" Math: "Studying the Facts" Students may bring one item to school Friday for a special Show-and-Tell.  Students should be prepared to tell their classmates about the item. Book orders are due Monday, January 12.

Once again this year, Grade 2B will be caring for the class fish.  Our live Fish Cam is now operational and is accessible by clicking on the "Fish Cam" tab on the main Gretna Green page.Boys and girls, we've already written about the fish adventures over summer vacation.  Let's see what else they're up to when we're not at school!

Hot Seat Comments!

 We have been doing a pretty cool activity over the past few weeks every Friday during You and Your World.  Students are taking their turn once a week to be in the "hot seat".  While sitting in the hot seat their classmates mention one positive thing about the student. These awesome comments are then printed and hang on our wall for the entire week for everyone to see.  Featured in this photo is Ella who was in the hot seat this week:)

Skating Tomorrow!

We will be going skating tomorrow (Friday) during the afternoon.  Students will need skates and helmets.  If any students don't have skates or helmets, please let me know as we have some extras.
