Mock Olympic Torch Relay

We got to carry the Olympic torch made out of paper by the class. We were nervous. We stood in the middle of the hall. We waited for the music to begin. We had to wait for the other grade one class to come and light our Olympic torch so Braydan and I could go upstairs to light the other Olympic torch. Then we went to the gym for the assembly. Reminders

The Kid's Corner Store will be having their grand opening this Thursday. Everything is under $1.00 and they will also be having a bake sale with everything being less than $1.00. Don't forget to wear Red and White on Friday!

Math - Subtraction Fun!

This week in Math we are focusing on Subtraction. Students are learning that subtraction involves taking one group away from another. They are creating and solving subtraction story problems up to the number 12. For subtraction story problems you could have your child at home make up different subtraction story problems using their toys. (Example: There are 10 Hot Wheel cars parked on the floor and 8 drive away. How many Hot Wheel cars are left?) See the web links below for subtraction practice.
