Good Morning,

Please refer to the new learning package that was sent home for activites to work on.  Also, don't forget about working on the online resources that we use in the classroom (Squiggle Park, Raz-Kids and DreamBox Learning).

Have a great day!

Continue to do what you can with your child's home learning during these times.  There are lots of challenges in their November Homework folders to choose from.  Other options are the online resources, DreamBox Learning for Math and Raz-Kids/Squiggle Park for Literacy.  If you need your child's Squiggle Park login, just send me an email and I will send it to you.  Thanks and have a great weekend!

I have set up accounts for each student with books assigned at their reading level.  This is a good site to use if you are limited to books at home at your child's reading level.  It is totally optional! Email me at christine.otoole@nbed.nb.ca if you are having any problems or your notice the books are too easy or hard for your child and I will reassign new books.  Thanks

Kids A-Z Login Instructions

Step 1: Go to www.kidsa-z.com

Step 2: Enter or choose the teacher's username, GretnaGreenKO

Step 3: Your child finds his or her username on the class chart,

Step 4: Your child clicks on the picture of the APPLE for the password

Attached is a letter to parents with information on how to set up a Dream Box account for your child.  There are a few students who already have accounts set up and enjoyed using it in the classroom.  If you would like to try this out you can send me an email and I will send you a username and password for your child.  christine.otoole@nbed.nb.ca

STEM

By Mrs. O’Toole’s Class

STEM Bins are for working and playing.  We learn how to make stuff like how to build towers and mazes.  It’s fun to make towers with cups and with blocks.  We learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  Our class likes to make airplanes, boats, cars and trains out of Lego.  With the cups we made a mini-putt golf course and we made a fort.  The Squishy Circuits kit is awesome!  We turned a boat into an airplane with a real propeller but it didn’t fly.  We think the STEM Bins are really cool and we love using them to build and create.  They are epic!

Today we went to the book fair to view the books. We will be going back tomorrow as a class. If you are sending money in with your child, please put it in a baggie with their name on it. The book fair will be open for the remainder of the week to purchase books as well as Thursday night during Parent Teacher Interviews.
