Home Learning Week of April 20th-25th

Good morning!

Attached you will find our pdf lesson plan for the week of April 20th-25th. Please not that this week I have added links to video tutorials to show the students how to use our new websites (Dreambox, Raz-kids, Boomwriter) to get the most out of the websites provided. Don't forget we will have two live sessions this week in French: one on Tuesday and one on Thursday and both are at 7:00.

For math this week, we will continue with Reflex and Dreambox. I have added an assignment for students to complete on Dreambox. For STEM, I have added a link to a review video of concepts reviewed last week on Brainpop. You can always go back and access those videos this week too. There is a small worksheet attached to the lesson plan with an activity that goes with those concepts. For French this week, I have decided to assign all possible French books at their level in raz-kids. That way they can read through them at their own pace. Encourage them to do the comprehension tests at the end so I can know if they need to move forward a level. For writing, students can always continue on past websites I provided but this week I am introducing Boomwriter. It's a journaling website. I have a journal question up for students to respond and I can provide feedback to them. Please note that the students' posts won't appear public until I have reviewed and posted it publicly on the site. The site has other features as well that I will be exploring more as we move forward. I have a video tutorial for this site as well.

Home Learning Week of April 14th-18th

Good morning,

In the following document you will find our home learning plan for the week of April 14th-18th along with all links you will need. Math has a little challenge this week that is totally optional. For STEM I have suggested a few lessons from the brain pop website that covers one of the topics we did not have a chance to do yet this year. For French Language Arts, a new book has been assigned to each student as well as new boom card decks have been added. Please note that for the physical education suggestions, please see Mr. Ryans teacher page from now on.

I have attached a document that outlines this weeks home learning plan. It will always be available in the documents tab as well. The links are on the pdf document and can be clicked to open the website.

Here are a few tips (thanks to those who have reached out to let me know not all the links were working):

For Dreambox, please not that the school has a specific link assigned to it (https://play.dreambox.com/login/knjs/mqtz) . Our school code is knjs/mqtz and our class code is 50428.

For Raz-Kids

Step 1: Go to www.kidsa-z.com

Step 2: Enter or choose the teacher's username, ggfi5

Step 3: Your child finds his or her username on the class chart.

Step 4: Your child enters his or her password.
