I had a great vacation this summer.  My family and I went to my Gram's house in Newfoundland and stayed for a month. My favorite part of the trip was a morning fishing in my uncle's speed boat.  At first we didn't catch anything.  The next stop was kinda like the first stop.  This time my Mom caught a sculpin and Uncle Sid didn't catch anything. At the end we went back and I saw a lot of really cool jellyfish. Some other fun stuff I did was - go to a sandy beach (more jelly fish), swimming at the Aqua Arena and swimming at Aunt Mim's restaurant pool with noodles.  I also went to the Marine Center at Terra Nova National Park and picked up a hermit crab and starfish at the touch tank.  I saw a statue of John Cabot at Bonavista, went to Signal Hill in St. John's and went golfing with Dad at Twin Rivers Golf Course for the first time.  It was a great summer vacation.

Our good friend Matthew B. is the first team member to submit his holiday adventures.  We hope you enjoy his entry and we all look forward to reading yours!  I missed the last 2 days of school because my family went to Ottawa to visit my cousins and we saw the fireworks and the Queen  of England on Parlament Hill. I had a great time at museums and Little Ray's Reptiles. I am going to my cousins cottage on Tuesday with my dad in St. Martin's N.B. and my sister is going to Bangor shopping with my mom!   I'm having a great summer and today we saw a big bear and 3 baby cubs in Barnaby River when we were out for a drive.Submitted by Matthew B.

After many years of "brainswashing" my students on the merits of continuing their education in this nation's finest university, St. Francis Xavier.  I have my first former student who took my advice!  During a recent visit to St. FXU with my family I stumbled into former student, Joey Dignam, who proudly displayed his X ring to me.  Here is a photo of Joey and a very proud teacher ... moi!

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to each and everyone of my students for a fantastic year.  We worked together as an awesome team all year and really had a lot of fun along the way.  This was without a doubt my most memorable year as an educator yet.  You all made my job as a teacher exceptionally easy and I would like to thank each and every one of you for this super experience.  I would also like to thank all parents for your support and kind words and tokens of appreciation over the last few days!  I hope that each and every one of you have a fun filled summer and I wish you all the best!

The team held their final project based learning activity of the year on Friday.  The team was divided into groups and given a list of items that could be purchased from the "Comeau Store" to build a structure that would protect an egg from a 15m free fall.  After purchasing $5000.00 worth of materials they went to work and created some great structures.  Three of the four group structures made it to phase four ... the roof drop and survived!  Bravo team and check out our latest image gallery for some of the highlights.

The team had a great time today with their final differentiated project of the year.  We had our official egg toss today and the students for the most part made it all the way to phase 4!  Ask your children and they will fill you in on the details.  Good times!
