SPELLING:  We are introducing a new program called Zoo-phonics to our grade one students.  This approach allows students to use both body signals and phonetic sounds to help them remember their spelling.  This weeks spelling words are: dad, fad, lad, mad, sad, glad.  There will now be a weekly sheet for spelling in your child's homework.  We ask that your child practice using their body signals as they write out each word.  March's spelling words can be found under the Documents fold.   Note:  There is a great website to help your child with their spelling called SpellingCity.com.  This can be found under the Web Links.   WRITING:  We will continue working on "good leads" and introduce ways in which to end their stories.
