Our grand opening for our new school cafeteria will be on Monday September 19th for all students. We are looking forward to serving you with nutritous and tasty meals throughout the week. Check out our menu selection and prices. If you would like to order simply write down what you would like and put the note and money in a zip lock bag and it will be sent to the cafeteria the moment your child arrives in the morning. We will also have a new option very soon for all parents and students. You will soon be able to order online and pay online for your meal selections from our menu.
The entire learning community of Gretna Green would like to welcome you all back to our "new and improved" K-8 school and we all look forward to making this year the best year ever! First day of school for all students will be Tuesday, September 6th with the exception of kindergarten students who will be doing a staggered entry. There will be no cafeteria services the first week of schoolso all students are required to bring their own lunch.
We would like to remind all students in grades K-5 to please bring in their $50.00 fee for school supplies on the first day of school. This fee will cover all school supply costs for the entire year. Students in grades 6-8 will be purchasing their own school supplies. Their school supply lists can be found on our school homepage under the documents tab. All students in K-5 are invited to join us for the annual Mango Fun Run being held tomorrow, Sunday, June 26th. Registration will take place between 10:00-10:45 at the Lindon Rec Centre and the race begins at 11:00. Remember, the school with the largest number of participants wins the Mango Cup and we've won the last four years ... so let's make it five GG!!!
The entire Gretna Green learning community is invited to join us in celebration as Mrs. Arbeau enters her retirement year at Gretna Green. Well wishers are invited to share their personal greetings with Mrs. Arbeau on Wednesday, June 22nd from 1:00-2:30 in our school staff room.
The Gretna Green Home & School committee would like to thank all those who supported our Drive One For Your School Fundraiser over the weekend. Your support helped garner $5000.00 in funds from Ford Canada. This fundraiser marked our final event for the year in support of our new playground. We are happy to announce that over $45 000 was raised throughout the year ... wow!!!!
Everyone is encouraged to make their way to Gretna Green this coming Saturday, June 4th. From 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Adults can test drive a car and Ford will automatically donate $20.00 towards the construction of a new playground at Gretna Green. So all you have to do is donate 20 minutes of your time and Ford Canada will reward our school with a $20.00 donation for every car that is test driven. So come on out to GG everyone on Saturday, June 4th between 11:00 & 3:00 and make a difference!
