Congratulations to GG Times members Zachary, Bailey and A.J. who recently submitted a video in a national video contest and won. They interviewed WW II veteran, John Forbes, and submitted their video into a video contest sponsored by Friends of Veterans Canada. The winning prize was an all expense paid trip for their veteran, John Forbes, to Holland for the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Holland. This proved to be a rewarding experience for both the students and veteran John Forbes. Well done!

On Wednesday April 14, 2010 we encourage students and staff to wear pink to school to show that we will not tolerate bullying at Gretna Green. Pink pins will be availble for all students so it will not be necessary to buy anything new if your child does not have pink clothing.

The salmon eggs have arrived courtesy of Mark Hambrook, marine biologist, from the Miramichi Fish Hatchery. This program will allow students to see the eggs hatch over a 6 to 8 week period. The salmon fry will then be released into the main South West Miramichi river sometime in June. The grade five students are very excited about this program. It also allows the students to study environmental issues, fish habitat and much more in conjunction with our Science curriculum!
The grade five students had a great time curling today. They learned many of the basic skills needed to play this fine winter sport. For many of our students it was their first time playing and it was a great experience. We would also like to thank Mr. Pinder for making this outing possible!
Thanks again to all our students and parents who helped make our grade five yard sale such a huge success! The money raised totalled over $270.00. The students were exceptionally pleased with the overall support shown towards their fundraising campaign. Great job Gretna Green!
It's time for the Grade 5 Yard Sale. It will be held tomorrow, March 31st. All items are $1.00 or less. Come out and help support our Grade 5 fundraising campaign for the end of the year trip.
This week Gretna Green students will have a chance to win this Easter Basket by making a guess on how many eggs are in the basket. Guesses will cost .25 cents each. Also, the Student Council will be organizing an Easter Egg Hunt for students on Thursday afternoon. Remember to wear your Easter colors on Thursday!!
Congratulations Hannah from 5C for winning the Ipod Shuffle. Tickets were sold on an Ipod Shuffle to help raise money for Deegan, a grade 3 student who is in need of an Insulin Pump.
