Good morning, I hope everyone had a restful weekend. I have assigned a new book in Boukili called "Saucisson se Costume". This book is a higher level book, I only ask that your child listen to the book twice this morning. If they have any questions about the book we can talk about it in our morning meeting. Your child can also continue working on their Boom Learning cards "Les Vêtements" this week. I will be showing your child today how to get into our morning routine questions and our word wall on Teams today during our meeting. We will also attempt an oral lesson. Your child should be able to see our meeting start time in their Teams calendar. have a great day and let me know if you have any questions.

Please continue to use Duolingo and Boom Learning today for oral practice. These sites are easy to access and your child can play the games on their own. We have used these sites many times in class. Todays assigned book in Boukili is "La surprise de Léo". I see many students are not able to record themselves reading and that is ok, do not worry about the recording, I can see that they read the book and how they do the questions and games after. If they can record please continue to do so.
Our focus today on teams meeting is going to be just getting use to the video chat and being able to turn our mics on and off and go from email back to the video chat. In the case this last longer than we all hope I really want to be able to teach the kids face to face. It is really hard to learn a second language on your own without support. So todays teams class will just be getting use to all the buttons and locating them. I cant wait to see all their little faces today! Remember this is a very stressful time for everyone and we can only do what we can do, I appreciate all the effort your all putting in during this stressful time.
I have attached a PDF here to help you and your child get logged in to teams and I have also posted Link to help your child find their team once they are in. Good Luck and I am available all do if you have any trouble getting on to the teams site.

Good morning! Please continue to follow the home learning PDF file for the links your child needs. You child has a new book assignment today in Boukili "J'aime Les Rimes". I have not added any new assignments in DuoLingo as none have finished the previous assignments. I have scheduled two team meetings for our class to make sure there is time that will work for most of our class. Your child can attend both meetings or just one it is up to them. The meeting notification is in our class teams general channel. If your child is unsure of what the general channel is, you can tell them it is where they chat. It would be a good idea for your child to try login into teams today and find the meeting notification to help us avoid any hiccups tomorrow. If you child has lost of misplaced their email or cannot remember how to login please reach out today and I can help:) HAPPY HOME LEARNING!

I am available all day if you or your child have any questions.

Welcome to our final week of at home learning. Thank you once again for all your cooperation during this unprecedented time.  This week there is no writing assignment, instead I am asking that all my students email me a short video clip to say hello, wish their classmates a great summer break and best of luck to our grade 5 students heading up to the middle school. I plan on putting together a class video to post on my teacher page for all the students to see.

I just want to again thank you for your continued support in the at home learning.  This week I ask that you child choose a non-fiction book at their level that they have not read.  If they have read them all they can re-read their favorite book and answer at least two of the reading response questions.

This week your child will be researching a city in New Brunswick and planning a trip to that city for their writing piece.  There are more detailed instructions on this week’s lessons link bellow along with a link to the tourism NB web page.  I am aware that many festivals and events are canceled due to COVID-19 but I ask that your child use info from previous years festivals to gather their information.

Have a great week and do not hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns.  Again, please keep an eye on your email as I will be sending out an email to check in with some of you and as always I love to hear back and to get pictures for our page.

Take care and Stay Safe

Welcome to week 7 of at home learning.  I hope you all had a chance to get outside and enjoy the nice weather this weekend.  Please take a look at the GG home page if your intrested in purchasing a GG year book.

Please remember with your raz kids book assignemts that once you do the quiz the book will no longer be in your assignemt box.  You can complete your quiz at the end of the week.  It is a good idea to keep you book for the week to help you with your reading responses.

Just a note to parents, please keep an eye on your emial.  I will be checking in with each student this week and would really like a reply, even if it is just to say your child is doing fine:)  Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Wellcome to another week of at home learning.  Please make sure you check your assignments in Raz kids as everyone has been assigned a book.  Do not do the reading quiz that goes with the book unti thursday as the book will disapear and I would like students to practice their book each day.

This week you will be working on a procedural writing.  Once you have finished writing about how to make your favorite snack or sandwich please send in a picture or a video of you making your snack.  I have also included an example to show you how to write a procedural text, feel free to try making my favorite snack:)

Good luck and have a great week!

Hi grade 4\5 students and parents, it is SHARK WEEK!

I hope your first week of at home learning went well! Suggested time remains the same 60 minutes a day plus 30 minutes of reading.  We have broken it down to 30 minutes of literacy activities, 30 minutes of reading and 30 minutes of Math (Please refer to Mrs. Gardiner’s page for Math and Mr. Ryans page for Phys-Ed).  I have attached below a document of this week’s lessons that are shark themed. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at tara.foran@nbed.nb.ca .

*Parents please email me for the passwords for  Raz-kids Reading as I highly encourage your child to use this program.  I can keep track of the books they have read, their reading level and adjust accordingly.  I will also be checking emails regularly if you have any questions or concerns.  If any of you are doing something special or just something fun that you would like to see on my teacher page please email me a picture and a brief description and I can post it on my page to share with the rest of the GG community.

Happy Shark Week
