Welcome back to another fun week in Kindergarten! We continue to work on letter sounds and sight words. Practice makes perfect!  Last week, we learned how to use writing to explain to someone how to do something.  We recorded some examples.  Pick something you like to do and practice this at home. In Math, we are learning about 3D Shapes. 3D shapes are fat not flat!  We learned the names for a sphere, cylinder, cube, pyramid, prism and cone.  Look for these shapes at home! Last week's Wonder Wednesday was about our 5 Senses.  We are going to continue to learn about these this week.  Can you remember what they are? ****Parents, there was a book order sent in with no name on it.  If you ordered books, please send me a note so I can make sure everyone gets their order. Thanks! Library is Thursday.  Remember to bring your books back! Have a great week!

This is our first full week in Kindergarten for 2015!   We will continue to review our alphabet and letter sounds.  Practice identifying beginning, middle and ending sounds at home (Parents ask your child what letters words begin or end with and what letters they hear in the middle.  For example what does bat start with? What vowel do you hear? What letter does bat end with?).  Keep reviewing your sight words.  They help you become a better reader! January homework calendars will go home Monday. We are starting a new unit in Math on Geometry and Measurement.  Look around for different shapes.  What do you see?  How are apples and balls similar? Library is Thursday.  We have Buddy Reading and Show and Tell on Friday.  Have a great week!
