Hello!

Please find below a list of activities and suggestions from our very own Mr.Stewart regarding social and emotional activities that can be done to help deal with stress and anxiety at this time.

Mindfulness Activities:

Mindfulness: Dealing with difficult Moments

Be a Tree: Mindfulness Activity

This activity is a mediation to encourage you to embrace stillness and be open to what is around you.

Choose a spot outside, preferably where there are trees. Stand or sit still and relax, just like a tree.  Imagine that you have roots growing from under your feet into the earth.  Spread your fingers and notice the feel of the breeze or wind moving past your hands, just like wind passing through tree branches.  Close your eyes, if you are comfortable doing this, and experience the feeling of being still and quiet in the open.  Listen to the sounds around you for several minutes.  Then, you can tell someone about your mediation.  You can also write about it or draw a picture of it.

Hello!

I have had a few emails about infos-jeunes-the weekly French reading comprehension students in grades 6-8 complete at home.  I have not assigned it and will not until after the March Break, simply because students have many projects in many classes that a fairly large (STEM projects etc) that they need to do at home right now.  We will recommence this after the March Break and I will post about it then.
