In preparation for our class trip on Friday Mr. Buggie was in today to deliver a tutorial on canoe safety, paddle strokes and the proper use of PDFs.  The team is preparing for their canoe adventure at the MVHS pool this coming Friday.  We will update you with future pictures and highlights from our team trip!

Our training session for canoeing will be Tuesday morning and our big canoeing adventure will be at MVHS pool on Friday from 9:00-11:30 am.  I hope you are looking forward to this great activity, it should be fun!  In Math we will continue on with our unit on Measurement.  Our final copy of our speeches will be due on Thursday and we will begin formal presentations on the same day.  We still have four students who have not presented their Middle Ages project, they will present on Monday.  Haylie, Bailey and Kaylee are on this week for our "morning workout" routine.  This will be our last week selling our tickets for the Year End Field Trip, so let's give it a big final push for Friday!

There will be a Math test on Wednesday dealing with our unit on Geometry.  Following our unit on Geometry we will be exploring measurement.  Final draft copies for our speeches will be due on Tuesday.  I must say I am very impressed with what I have seen thus far!  You should also be congratulated on your podcasts on Bullying.  They were a big hit with the students last week during morning announcements.  I will post them on our class site this week so you can share them with your family at home.  Don't forget that our Spell-a-thon will finish up on Friday.  Ticket sales for the Mother's Day basket have been good so far, keep up the good work!

  Congratulations to our very own GG Times members Zachary, Bailey and A.J. who recently submitted a video in a national video contest and won.  They interviewed WW II veteran, John Forbes, and submitted their video into a video contest sponsored by Friends of Veterans Canada.  The winning prize was an all expense paid trip for their veteran, John Forbes, to Holland for the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Holland.  This proved to be a rewarding experience for both the students and veteran John Forbes.  Well done!

 Monday marks the first day of term three.  We will be creating new teams, logos and seating arrangements this week.The Home and School Spell-A-Thon begins on Monday.  Please make sure to study your list of words.  I will provide this list to you on Monday.  These words will also become part of our spelling list words over the next two weeks.  We will also be presenting our Medieval projects on Monday and Tuesday.  Friday is teacher switcheroo day.  Ms. Sheasgreen will by your teacher for the day, lucky you!  Meanwhile I will be teaching Mrs. O'toole's grade 1 ... those poor little grade one children!  Our podcasting project will come to a close on Monday in preparation for our Stand up to Bullies day on Wednesday, April 14th.  We hope to feature many of our podcasts during morning announcements this week.  Don't forget to wear some pink on Wednesday, if possible.
