This week is "Student Appreciation Week".  I regret to inform you that there will be no homework for the entire week.  This is also Survivor Week and "yours truly" will be on the teacher team, good luck to all participants.  In Math this week we will have an "open book" test on division.  We will be completing our Sneaker story in class this week and presenting them to our reading buddies.  Science class will see us working as a team on a "special project", it should be fun!  For those of you on the team who are leaving us a little early for trips down south, have a good trip!  In Social Studies we will be continuing with our reading in the Dear Diary series.  I am happy to see that many of you are enjoying these readings.  Lastly, this week will be our last week of February and then it is March Break, yeah!

Lexy and Jordyn lead the class through their Friday Showcase presentation on dance.  They both demonstrated some of their dance moves.  Lexy went onto explain some of the dedication needed to become a proficient dancer.  A SMART lesson was created along with videos and dance routines that helped us all understand and appreciate a little more about dancing.  Thanks again girls!

The team kicked off their first activity in our Science Olympics challenge in Science class today.  The students worked exceptionally well at designing and creating their own straw towers.  This allowed them to "do science" using an inquiry based approach to learning.  It was a huge success and the kids cannot wait for their next challenge!  Check out our image gallery for a closer look.
