Math 8

-Today we looked at what is discreet and continuous data.  We looked at how to fill in a data table from an algebraic equation.

-homework Q 4, 5, and 8

Math 7

-Students did their test today.  No homework.

Math 6

-We continued our work with order of operations today. 

-Homework p. 72 Q 5 (NO CALCULATOR)  and 10.

Science 7

-We finished our notes on particle theory.  We will be in the lab on Thursday.

Science 6

-We had a fire alarm today.

-We began notes on procedures and how to write them.

Math 8

-No homework as they did their test today.

Math 7

-We finished going over our practice test.  Students have a test Monday.

Math 6

-We continued to work on order of operations today.

-Students are to complete Q 4 p. 72 for homework.

-Students also have practice questions on Mathletics to complete.  Students are enrolled in two classes through Mathletics.  203 is the grade 6 material and Canadian math fluency is a review of math skills class.  Mathletics gives instant feedback as to if the student was successful.  It also send me reports of how they are doing and where their strength and weaknesses are.  There are tutorial videos, practice questions, fun competitions and practice tests.

Science 7

-Today we talked about how temperature can affect the saturation of a liquid.  We also talked about the three states of matter.  Notes are posted below.  We will be in the lab next Thursday and Friday.

Science 8

-Students wrote their test today.

-First side of formative assessment is for homework.

Math 6

-Formative test was passed back.  Summative test is tomorrow on Multiples and factors.

Provincials 2017 for Cross Country was held in Fredericton on October 15th. We are very proud of our Gretna Green Gators.  Over 500 participants competed.

Math 7

-Today we learnt about l'étendu and la médiane.  Homework is p. 60 Q 1a, 2, 3, and 4.

Math 6

-Today we learnt the division method to find primary factors of a number.  No homework.  If students want practice they can work on Mathletics.

Math 8

-We reviewed material from grade 7 that students will need to use in our next unit. 

-Students completed tasks in Mathletics on our new unit.

Math 7

-Today learnt about how to calculate an average and find the mode in a list of numbers. 

-No homework.

Math 6

-Today we reviewed and worked on questions as a class.  We stressed the importance of reading the question and understanding what it is asking for.  Their are "key words" that students need to look for in the question to help them know how to answer it correctly.

-We went over multiples, factors, and primary numbers today.  See notes attached below.

-Students are to complete Q 1, 1, 2 on the handout.  All questions are with tree diagrams to find primary factors.

-We will not have our test until next week.
