Spelling homework for the next two weeks will be the words from the Home and School Spell A Thon. They are Grade 2 No Excuse Words. The test will take place on Friday, April 23. There are great prizes to be won for the top three pledge earners: 1st place is an Ipod Touch, 2nd place is a Nintendo DSi and 3rd place is a digital camera. There is also a class prize of a Wii Entertainment System and prizes for those who earn $50.00 or more in pledges. Good luck!

We are working on a new unit in Math on Addition and Subtraction to 100. In this unit, your child will be developing strategies for adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers.
The Learning Goals for this unit are to:
Explore and develop personal strategies for adding and subtracting 1-digit and 2-digit numbers; Develop strategies to use when solving addition and subtraction problems up to 2-digits; Pose and solve a variety of number problems requiring addition or subtraction; Understand and use the relationship between addition and subtraction to help solve subtraction problems; Write a number as a sum or difference of 2 numbers.
