Math 8

-No class on Thursday

Science 7

-We did an engineering project today.  We watched some videos on construction in earthquake zones.  Please see photo gallery.

Math 6

-We practiced switching between fractions, decimals and percent today.  See photo gallery for images.

Science 8

-We continued our work on colour and optics.  We watched Oniva.  This radio Canada French science show taped part of the episode here on the Miramichi this year.  Students loved recognizing some of their friends and neighbours in the show.

Math 8

-Second part of assessment tomorrow.  Calculator is needed.

Math 7

-Tomorrow we will be doing our  math operations assessment.  Today we practiced fractions, improper fractions and mixed numbers.  We also used a game to review how to add and subtract.

Math 6

Students completed an end of the year assessment today.

Science 6

-Students worked on the planning phase of their Airplane project.  We also went over science sketches.

Science 7

-Today students presented their project.

Math 7

-Today we finished our district assessment.  Next week students will write their school math operations test.  This is a benchmark that is done without calculator.  It assesses ability to add, multiply, subtract and divide along with other number outcomes.

-No homework

Science 7

-We will be continuing with presentations over the next few science classes.

Math 6

-Today students prepared for the math operation assessment they will do next week.  This is a general assessment of basic math facts that students do without a calculator.  They did this assessment twice this year already.  

-Some students presented their science project to me one on one.

-no homework.

Math 7

-We did our district part 1 assessment today.   Part two is Thursday.  Students will need a calculator for Thursday. 

Math 6

-Students wrote their provincial science assessment today.    We will finish the science projects Thursday.  Those wishing to present one on one can.  J

Math 8

-Assessment when they return from their trip.  We played Zut today to review assessment type questions as a group.  Students will have access to the questions in both English and French during the district assessment.

Science 8

-Project is due before they go on the trip.

Bake sale Monday.  Grade 6 and 7 are asked to bring in peanut free items for the sale.  All money goes towards end of the year trip.

-Practice test should be signed.  We spent today going over questions in detail.  District assessment is Tuesady and Thursday of next week.

-We went over the second and third review sheet today.  Time was given to continue working on the review package.

Math 7

-We went over the first part of the review package.  We also did a review puzzle activity.

-District assessment is June 3rd and 6th.

Math 6/science 6

  • We used today’s class to work on the science project.   Thursday’s class will be used to work on the project.  Project is due Monday.

  • Tomorrow we are attending the elementary play.

Math 8

-Students were given a review packet.  This should be completed for class tomorrow.

Math 7

-Students were given a sample exam.  One section is with a calculator and the second is without a calculator.  This should be completed for class tomorrow so that we can review it together.

Math 6

-We did our provincial assessment today.

Science 7

-Research project is due Friday to present to the class.  

Science 6

-Project is due Monday.  Some Math class time will be given to work on this project.

-Provincial assessment Monday.

-Parents are to sign the review booklet that does count for the report card.  It was handed back marked today.   Students should be reviewing this to practice for the provincial Monday.  Answers posted below.
