Students in grade 3, 4 and 5 are invited attend Drama auditions Tuesday afterschool from 2:30-3:30. This is for students who are interested in auditioning for an on-stage role.

There are 5 days of school this week! I hope everyone had lots of rest on the weekend! Our CLASS PHOTO will be taken on Friday this week. Cross country this week is in Blackville and Mad Science continues on Wednesday and Thursday. Language Arts - Our Daily 5 went well last week. We will continue to do two rotations each day and try for a third. We are also going to get our Pen Pal names and write them a letter. They are from Bonnyville, Alberta.....check out their school website http://duclosschool.ca/Math - We will finish our Unit on Patterns and begin Unit 2:Numbers to 1000.Social Studies - We are going to do a research project on the Atlantic Canada Region. Remember to study your October Spelling words!It is going to be another fanstastic Superstar Week!

I hope everyone is enjoying their long Thanksgiving weekend! A reminder that there is no school on Tuesday as well! See you all on Wednesday.
This week is Fire Prevention Week! We have a presentation on Wednesday and we might have a Fire Drill this week.
For the Superstars that are on the Cross Country team, your meet this week is at Croft this week. Mad Science continues this Wednesday and Thursday.
Language Arts - We are going to start 3 rotations of Daily 5 this week!
Math - We will continue our Unit on Patterns by looking at Decreasing Number Patterns.
Social Studies - We are going to finish up Unit #1 by looking at the Atlantic Canada Region.
Remember to study your October Spelling words. We will have a practice quiz on Friday!
Friday we are going to have our PIZZA PARTY!! No need to bring your lunch!!

Congratulation Superstars...you brought in the most donations for Grade 3-5 for our Breakfast Program. You won the Pizza Party!!! I am very proud of you! No need to bring your lunch next Friday because we will be enjoying our Pizza! What a fabulous way to end our week!

Wow..this first week of October! Time is flying by. This weekend is Thanksgiving weekend. It will be a four day weekend for students. On Tuesday, October 9, teachers have a Professional Learning Day.*Scholastic Books order are due back on Friday October 5, 2012.*Mad Science starts this week. Mawj, Shahd, Austyn will be going on Wednesday and Cole D., Tyra, Shariq are signed up for Thursday.* This week's Cross Country meet is in Nelson Language Arts - We will be introducing Work on Words during our Daily 5.Math - We will continue to work with increasing numbers patterns and will have Math Centers later in the week.Social Studies - We will finish Chapter 1 "Where Is New Brunswick".Spelling - We have our new words for the month of October. Congratulations to our Grade 3 Superstars. It was a fabulous Friday. We won the Dynamo Dragon Class of Class of the Month!! Congratulations to Mawj who won the Go Getter Student of the Month! Karsen also won the draw for the movie ticket! What a fabulous day it was!

*Tomorrow afternoon is our Terry Fox Walk. It is at 1:30..not 1:15 as I mentioned earlier in the week!
* Tomorrow's Cross Country meet is at England's Hollow. Remember you go home first and then have a drive arranged to take you to England's Hollow for 4:00.

This week in Anti-Bullying Awareness week in New Brunswick schools and grade 3S are practicing to use our WITS. WITS means to Walk Away, Ignore, Talk it out or Tell Someone! This is what we do if someone is bothering us. Our Superstars had a choice of creating a poster or writing thier own song to help teach others about using WITS. Watch our picture gallery and our audio sections to see what they created!

Wow it is the last week on September already and we have a fantasic week in store for us!
*Our Terry Fox Walk will be Wednesday afternoon at 1:15. Parents are welcome to walk along with us!
*Friday is our Walking School Bus. You must have a parent to join us! I hope lots of you will join me in walking to school!
*The Breakfast Program food drive is still under way until next week!. We need many more donations if we want to win the Pizza Party!
*This is our Provincial Bullying Awareness week. We will be learning about using our WITS!
*Class Photos- Unfortunately our class was missed last week when they were taking class pictures. Our picture will be taken on Re-Take day. I will let you know the date as soon as I know!
Language Arts - We will be continuing to build our stamina in Read to Self and Read To Someone. We will be Working on Writing and introducing Listening To Reading.
Math - We are going to move on to Lesson 4 - Increasing Number Patterns
Social Studies - We are going to learn how to read a map and how to describe where in the world New Brunswick is!
Guidance - We are thinking about 10 things we are thankful for!
It is going to be another Superstar week and of course we will have lots to Tweet about!
