This Week in GG4SS - September 30 - October 4

  The last day of September and the first week on October...wow what a great month it has been!  We have read over 30 books and everyone has at least one story completed. Well done Superstars!!    * Soccer and Cross Country continue this week. Cross country practice is Monday and there will be a meet on Wednesday at England"s Hollow.  Soccer continues on Tuesday and Thursday!  * On Monday we are going to count the Terry Fox donations.  Super work organizing this event!  * The Breakfast program Fundraiser continues this week!  I hope we win the pizza party!!!     Language Arts - This week we will complete a Book Report on "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing."  We will also be learning how to write a proper paragraph and we will be working with homonymns. We will be learning our new spelling words for October as well. Math - We will finish up our lesson of Estimating Sums and we will begin Mental Math Strategies. Science - We will be learning about the Food Chain and we will begin our projects on Habitat.   Let's have another Superstar Week!

Star Student of the Week!!

 Mawj is our Star Student of the week. Mawj is 9 years old and her birthday is March 8.  She loves everything about school! Her favorite food is pizza and he favorite color is red.  She loves her eye color and she loves cats!

This Week in GG4SS- September 23 -27

Another fun and busy week ahead of us!!  Congratulations for doing an awesome job with the Terry Fox Spare change drive!! I am proud of you.* This week there is  Cross Country on Monday and Wednesday.  Wednesday is a meet at Croft!* Soccer Continues this week on Tuesday and Thursday.* The Terry Fox Spare Change Drive continues all week. Friday morning at 7:30 is the Walk to School/Terry Fox Walk.  Meet at the Northumberland Square mall and walk to school with us!!                            * The breakfast program drive continues too!  Bring in items for the Breakfast program and week could win a pizza party! Language Arts - We will continue looking at the Ideas Trait, as well as Homophones and Prefixes and suffixes.  Our spelling test will be on Friday Septmber 27. Math - We will be Esitmating Sums this week and working with Mental Math strategies.Science - We will continue learning about Habitat and the Food Chain. Let's have another Superstart week!!

Star Student of the Week!!

 Karsen is our Star Student this week! Karsen was born on September 10. He is 9 years old.  His favorite thing about school is Gym.  He loves to eat Coffee Crisp bars and his favorite color is green.  Karsen loves dogs and he loves the color of his hair!

This Week in GG4SS- September 16 -20

Our 3rd week in Grade 4 and our Superstars are completing awesome work!  We have another funfilled week ahead of us. * The Terry Fox Spare change drive begins today and ends of Friday, September 27.  Our Superstars did a fantastic job organizing this event.  Watch for their "Facts About Terry" on morning announcements! Remember for every Loonie you donated, your name goes in the draw for Principal for the Day!*The Home and School are having their Breakfast Program drive again this year.  They are looking for donations of Kraft Cheese Whiz, Guest Strawberry Jam and Apple Juice.  There will be a pizza party for the class who contributes the most!                               * Picture Day is Wednesday September 18th! Practice your smile!* The first Cross Country meet of the season will take place on Monday at North and South Elementary.*Soccer practice continues this week.* Drama will begin this week as well.  Any superstars looking to be part of the drama production can stay afterschool on Wednesday. Language Arts - We will continue to look at the Writing Trait of Ideas.  Remember Superstars you must have at least one written story completed by the end of each month.                              We will also be working on learning our September spelling words this week. Math - This week will start a lesson on "Ordering and Comparing Numbers"Science - We will be beginning our Unit on Habitat. It's going to be another SUPERSTAR week!

 Olivia is our Star Student of the Week!  Olivia is 8 years old.  Her birthday is November 24th. Her favorite thing about school is Gym!  Olivia loves to eat chips. Her favorite color is Neon Green and her favorite animal is a cat.  Olivia likes that fact that she is good at drawing!

This Week In Grade 4S: September 9 - 13, 2013

Our first full week of school this year!  It will be a busy week. * Soccer and Cross Country will be starting this week for grade 3 -5.  Cross Country will be on Monday and Wednesday this week, and Soccer will be on Tuesday and Thursday.* There will be a Student Council Election on Thursday.  Hopefully a few of our Superstars will be running in this election!* Meet the Teacher/Dessert Delight Night will take place on Thursday night at 6:00Homework begins this week too.  Please remember to return it on Friday.  Language Arts - We will be organizing our binders for Daily Five early in the week. We will also be looking at the Ideas writing trait.Math - We are going to start our Unit on Numbers to 10 000.Social Studies - This week we will be organizing the Terry Fox week for our school! Let's have a super week Team Superstars!!

Not Much Longer Now!!

  Heh Superstars... Only a few weeks and we will begin our journey together in Grade 4.  I can't wait to see everyone.  Remember to send your letter telling me about your summer.  Landon and Brady have both had a great summer so far.  Brady is having the "best summer ever" and Landon has been to Halifax, Bangor and New Hampshire!  I am looking forward to hearing what the rest of my Superstars have been up to this summer!

This Week in GG3SS

    This is my last weekly message for GG3SS.  The next one will be GG4SS!!!!!  I am very excited to be your teacher again next year!  * Monday we have our last Roots of Empathy lesson with Kim.   * Tuesday we have our Track and Field Day at JMH!  It is an all day event so you need to pack a lunch that doesn't need to be heated.  You also have to dress for the weather! Rain or shine!!   *Thursday afternoon the teacher will take on our Grade 5 students in a Softball game!  I sure hope I have lots GG3SS cheering for me:) * Friday ...your last day of grade three...it is a half day of school. Buses will leave Gretna Green at 11:15.   Let's have another Super Star Week!
