 There is only 9 weeks left of Grade 4...wow we are going to have a great 9 weeks!!** Celebrate...celebrate...celebrate - Tuesday we are going to celebrate 200 books read!! I am very proud of you for reading so many books!! We are now on our way to 300 books!! Well done SUPERSTARS* Remember to keep collecting pledges for the Home and School Spell A Thon. Pledges are due at the end of this week!! Sure would be great to win that pizza party!*You need to bring EXTRA SOCKS with you for the next couple of weeks.  Just in case your feet get wet on the playground.  There is still lots of snow on the playground and it is melting fast...be prepared :) Language Arts - This week we will be finishing our Personal Narratives and workinging on Pre-fixes and Suffixes.Math - We will continue to learn new strategies to divide big numbers. You also need to study your 9 times table.Social Studies - We will finish and present our project on "What Our World Looks Like" Let's have another Superstar week!!

 We have a short but busy week ahead of us!! Remember that there is NO SCHOOL on Thursday. It is a Professional Learning Day for teachers!!  Also Friday is Good Friday, so there is NO SCHOOL!.* Drama continues this week.*The Home and School Spell- A-Thon starts on Monday. There are great prizes to be won.  See below for a list of your Spell A Thon spelling words.** Remember to bring an extra pair of socks in case your feet get wet when playing on the playground.  The snow is melting and the playground is really wet!!!! Language Arts - This week we are going to finish the final copy of our personal narratives.  We are also going to have a closer look at our April spelling words and our Spell A Thon Words.Math - We are going to start our lessons on Divison.  The first lesson is "Estimating Quotients."Social Studies - We are going to look at "What Our World Looks Like" Chapter 5.That is all for this week....Happy Easter!!Let's have another Superstar week!  Home and School Spell A Thon Words Grade 4sometimeschildrenpeopleoutsidebeautifulbecausefriendlyterribleexceptheardleaveagainhopelessanotherwouldshouldcoulddifferentrestaurantthrew

 More snow for our first week of April!!!  Remember your snowpants!* Parent-Teacher has been re-scheduled to this Thursday evening, April 3, from 4 -7.  The interview times remain the same.* Drama continues this week.* It has been a few weeks since we have had library.  Remember to return your book before Thursday. Language Arts - Those who did not write the spelling test on Friday will have it Monday.  This week we will be returning to the Writing trait of Organization and completing writing assignments related to this.  We will also begin to learn of spelling words for the month of April.Math - We are going to finish our unit "Using Models to Multiply".Social Studies - We will finish our study on how exploration causes change.That's it for this week!Let's have another Superstar week!

 Wow...this is the last week of March.  Time is flying by so fast, next thing you know it will be June!*NO DRAMA on Monday...but the schedule remains the same the rest of the week!!* Parent-Teacher is re-scheduled for Thursday evening from 4:30 - 7:00*Remember that there is still LOTS of snow...so you still need your snowpants!! Language Arts - Our monthly spelling test will be on Friday...remember to study!Math - This week we will be learning strategies to  multiply with big numbers.Social Studies - We are going to start a new Unit in SS this week. Art - We will finish our Spring Art on Monday.Let's have another Superstar week!

 Happy St. Patrick's  to all my Superstars!! I hope you had a great weekend.  This is a busy week we have ahead of us.* Bookfair - we are going to the BookFair on Monday and Tuesday from 10 - 10:30.*STEM Fair projects - we will be working on our STEM fair projects most of the day Monday and Tuesday morning. Our school STEM fair is Tuesday afternoon. Gretna Green is hosting the District STEM fair on Thursday morning.REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR MATERIALS FOR YOUR PROJECTS! * Report cards go home on Monday.*Parent-Teacher interviews are on Thursday evening and Friday morning. (You have NO SCHOOL on Friday).*Parents can view the book fair through the Week.*Mad Science and drama continue this week.*The ASD-N CUTE Awards are taking place on Wednesday night.  Several of our students have been nominated for a CUTE Award for their Super Flex Video!!! Congratulations.Thank you to Bethany and Landon's parents who nominated me for best Teacher Page !! You guys rock!Let's have another superstar week!

This has been a very lucky few weeks for Shariq.  On the last day of school before the March Break, Shariq was award the GG Go Getter Student of the Month Award!  Then last week I was notified by the website Arcademics that Shariq had won 3rd place in the Math Competition!  Bravo Shariq...we are all very proud of you!

 Welcome back!! I hope everyone enjoyed their March Break! I am so excited to see all my Superstars and to hear all about your week!Congratulations to Shariq for winning 3rd place in the Math Arcademics competition.  I am so proud of you. You won a year subscription to Arcademics Plus for our class!! *Mad Science continues this week on Tuesday.*I am not sure about Drama.  We will have to listen to announcements on Monday.* Skating - If weather permits, we are going to skate on Wednesday. I have to check the schedule for a time.Language Arts - This week we will continue our study on the Writing Trait of Conventions.Math - We will be starting our Unit Multiplying and Dividing big numbers.Science - This week we will be studying Sound and will be starting to discuss our STEM Fair projects. Let's have another Superstar week!

  STUDENT APPRECIATION WEEK  at Gretna Green!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It is our turn to show our students how much we appreciate them.  This is what is ahead for the week.*NO Homework all week! Monday - Extra long recess(Alex, you will love this!!)  The boys basketball team have an Alumini Game at 6:00Mrs. DEMerchant's birthday!!! Happy Birthday Mrs. DeMerchant.Tuesday - Wear Olympic Ring Colors ...our color is BLUE...so dig out all your blue clothes Superstars! Mad Science continuesWednesday - Dress in Favorite Sport day  If weather permits, we will skate from 10 - 11Thursday - Wear Green & Olympic Gold Colors Friday - PJ Day   Grade 5 Students vs Teachers Hockey Game  SURVIVOR: OLYMPIC EDITION STARTS TUESDAY FEBRUARY 25th!!!!  Language Arts - We will be practice the proper placement of capital letters this week.Math - We are going to finish our Unit on Multiplication and Division and have our Unit test.Science - We are going to try to present our "Light" projects this week. Let's have another Superstar week!
