This Week in GG4SS- May 25 - 29

 Welcome back to our last full week in May.  Only 4 weeks left of grade 4!!! Time is flying by. *Congratulations to Josh, Nathan, Riley and Max for a great performance at the District Archery competition.* This Friday is PJ Day!!!.. Roll out of bed and come to school in your Pajamas!*Good Luck to Max who will be representing Grade 4 at the ASD-N Spelling Bee at Croft on Friday!*The weather is getting warmer, remember to wear sunscreen.Language Arts - We will continue working on synonyms, antonyms and homonyms.Math - We will be finishing our unit on Measurement and we will have our Unit Test on Tuesday.Science - We will continue working on our Habitat projects. Let's have another Superstar week!!

This Week in GG4SS

  Only 5 weeks of 4th Grade left!!  The count down begins!  I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend. * The Fishing Club will be meeting at the Enclosure on Tuesday at 3:30.   See Mr. Comeau if you are interested.*The second bike race will take place on Wednesday at NSER at 3:30.*Go For 42 continues...get out and walk or run.*Good luck to Max who will be participating in the Croft Spelling Bee on Thursday.Language Arts - this week we will continue looking at synonyms, antonyms and homonyms.Math - We will start Lesson 8 on Exploring AreaScience - We will start our Habitat study. Let's have another Superstar week!!

This Week in GG4SS - May 11 - 15

 Welcome back to another full week of school! I hope everyone spoiled their moms on Mother's Day!!*We have a Mystery Skype planned for Monday morning this week.*The Drama Club will be presenting their play to the public at 6:30 Monday evening. Good luck to Nadia, William, Sabrina, Maddy and Max!!* Go for 42 - Remember to get out and exercise.  Every kilometre walked or ran adds up for the final count of 42 Kilometres.*The GG Fishing Club kicks off this week.  Mr. Comeau will be offering a Guided Fishing session Thursday afterschool.*Mountain Bike Racing - The first race of the year will take place on Tuesday at Croft at 3:45.  Good luck to al our bikers!!*Grade 5 Yard Sale - Gr 5 Students will be hosting a Yard Sale on Wednesday at recess and lunch.  All items are $1.00 or less.*The girls, Nathan and Chase will be going to Fredericton on Thursday to attend the Provincial Science Fair.*Friday is Peer Helper Training Day #2. Language Arts - This week we will be learning about synonyms, homonyms and antonyms.Math - We are going to start a new unit on Measurement this morning.Science - We will be starting our Unit on Habitats this week! Let's have another Superstar week!

This Week in GG4SS - May 4 - 8

 We have a fun and exciting week ahead of us!! Only 7 weeks left of Grade 4...where has the time gone?*Drama continues this week in preparation for the District Drama Fest which will take place May 12. The school production will take place May 11 at 6:30. There will be a dress rehersal on Friday this week.*Peer Helper training will take place this week on Tuesday.  Good luck to all our Peer Helpers and have fun!*Ducks Unlimited Field Trip - On Thursday this week we will be travelling to the Ducks Unlimited site and will be participating in fun activities prepared by Ducks unlimited.*On Friday we will be having another Mystery Skype...I hope we win! Language Arts - This week we will continue to focus on Word Families and Spelling patterns.Math - We will be finishing our unit on Fractions this week and will have the unit test.Social Studies - we are going to finish our study on Canada and it's features. Let's have another Superstar Week!!

This Week in GG4SS - April - April 29

 Welcome back to a short week in GG4SS!  A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Thursday and Friday of this week.  Teachers have their Annual NBTA AGM and NBTA Subject Council Meetings.*Monday is the last day for the Home and School Fundraiser.  Please bring in all money raised by Monday.The prize assembly will take place on Wednesday morning.* We will be presenting our Genius Hour Projects on Tuesday afternoon to the students in Grade 3 and 5.* Hackmatack will take place on Wednesday afternoon.***Remember to wear your Rubber Boots as the playground is still very wet and muddy.*****Drama continues this week.  Check your schedule for practice times.Language Arts - We will be focusing on Word Families this week.Math - We are going to try to finish our unit on Fractions this week and have our Unit test next week.Social Studies - We will continue with our studies on Canada and it's features. Let's have another Superstar Week!

This Week in GG4SS - April 20 - 24

 Welcome back to another full week of school in GG4SS!!* Congratulations to Nadia on her Gold Medal performance at the Music Festival.*Also, congratulations to William and Sabrina for their perform with the GG Choir at the Music Festival.*Drama continues this week. Make sure you know what day you have practice.*The weather is beautiful but the playground is wet...remember to wear rubber boots and put an extra pair of sock in your backpack.*Earth day is Wednesday!! Language Arts- We are going to finish our "Little Red Riding Hood" stories. As well, we are going to work on word families.Math - We are going to continue with our Unit on Fractions.Social Studies - We are going to finish our Unit on Canada. Let's have a Superstar week!!

This Week in GG4SS - April 13 - April 17

 Welcome back to another Spring week in GG4SS!!* The weather is getting warmer, which means the ground is getting wetter.  Remember to put an extra pair of socks in your backpack in case your feet get wet when you are outside.* The Home and School Spell A Thon Fundraiser will start on Monday. Information will go home in your homefolder on Monday.*The choir will be attending the Music Festival this week.  Good luck to William and Sabrina!*Drama continues this week.  It is extremely important to attend your practice times.  The drama festival is getting closer.Language Arts - This week we will continue look at creating good paragraphs.Math - We will have our Unit Test for Multiplication and Division on Monday.  We will begin a Unit on Fractions.Social Studies - We will be learning about the Canada and its' features. Let's have another Superstar Week!!

This Week in GG4SS April 7-10

 Welcome back .., I hope everyone enjoyed their long Easter Weekend!!Congratulations to Nathan and Riley for being selected to bring their STEM Fair project to the District Fair.  I am very proud of you and everyone.  The entire class did a fantastic job on their projects.*Tuesday - Teddy Bear Picnic - There will be lots of new pre-school students visiting our school.  Show them a GG smile!Wednesday - District STEM Fair at Gretna Green from 9-12Thursday - CUTE Awards will take place at JMH starting at 7:00Drama Continues this week.Language Arts - This week we will be working on paragraphs and learning what it takes to write a good paragraph.Math - We will be finishing our Multiplication Songs and completing a review for the Unit on Multiplication and Divison.  The unit test will be next Monday.Social Studies - We will be learning about features of Canada. Let's have another Superstar Week!

This Week in GG4SS - March 30 - April 2

 We have another 4 day week ahead of us! It is Easter Week!* There is No School on Friday, as it is Good Friday. * There is No School on Monday, April 6 as it is Easter Monday.* Drama continues this week.  Check your schedule for practice times.*Gretna Green's STEM Fair will take place Thursday afternoon from 1:15- 2:15.*Thursday is Autism Awareness Day. Students can wear a hat all day long for a donation of a Loonie. Language Arts - This week we will definitely be starting our work on the proper use of Quoation Marks. We are also going to work on creating good paragraphs.Math - We are going to learn another strategies for dividing large numbers.Science - We are going to be learning about "Sound" this week!Let' s have another Superstar week!

This Week in GG4SS - March 23 - March 26

It is Report Card week and we have a short week ahead of us due to Parent-Teacher Interviews.*Report cards go home on Monday.*There is no school on Friday, March 27.*Parent-Teacher interviews will be Thursday from 4-7 and Friday from 9-12.*The book fair is taking place this week.  We will be visiting on Monday and Tuesday at 11:00.It will also be open on Thursday evening during P-T interviews.Language Arts- This week we will be learning more about the proper use of Quotation Marks.Math - We will be starting Division with 2 and 3 digit numbers.Science - We will be working on our Science Fair projects.  Remember to bring in the things you need for your experiment. Let's have another Superstar week!!

 Welcome back to another Super week in GG4SS! * We will be going skating again this week if the weather and the rink co-operates.  We will be skating on Thursday or Friday morning from 10:30- 11:30.* Drama continues this week.* Remember to wear your snow pants as there is still lots of snow on the ground.Language Arts- This week we are going to learn about the proper use of Quotation Marks and we are going to finish working on Sentence Structure.Math - This week we are going to start a new unit on dividing large numbers.  We will continue to review our basic multiplications facts and there will be another quiz on Friday.Science - We will be starting our Science Fair Projects this week. Let's have another Superstar week!

This Week in GG4SS - February23 - February 27

 It is Student Appreciation Week at Gretna Green! It is our turn to show our students how much we appreciate how awesome they are!!!!Monday - Survivor begins!                  Students will have an extra long recess....10 minutes will be added!                 Boy's Basketball team will play GG Alumini at 6:00Tuesday - Day 2 of Survivor.                  Twin Day - dress up indentical to another student.  You can make it triplets or quadruplets if you wish!  Have fun with it!!Wednesday - Last day of Survivor                     PJ Day.....yeah...we get to where our PJ'S to school!!                     It is also the 100th day of school!!Thursday -   French Play at Carrefour in the morning.                    Green and Gold Day. Show your school spirit by wearing your school colors!                    Students vs Teacher hockey game!! Go Teachers!                   Girls and Boys Basketball Jamboree at Dr Losier Friday -    Student Hockey Tournament!!MARCH BREAK!!! Language Arts - This week we are going to work on Sentence Structure and continue working with vowel blends.Math - We are going to use models to learn how to multiply with two digit numbersScience -We will be working in Lesson 2 of our Light and Sound Unit. We will study how light reflects! Let's have another Suprstar Week!
