Hi everyone!

7 & 8 FILA

For French today, students are to go to the following website via this link: https://ici.radio-canada.ca/jeunesse/scolaire and then hit the blogue icon to the far right at the top of the page. Once here students are to pick one vlogue to watch and one blogue to read of their choice. They are then to write a short paragraph on what each one was about and bring it to school for discussion when we return to face to face learning.

For French today, students are to go to the following website and watch one vlogue located at the link. I want students to use their listening strategies and combine it with their inferencing strategies to write one or two sentences after they have watched it to tell me what they think it is about: https://ici.radio-canada.ca/jeunesse/scolaire/blogues/4811/le-vlogue-de-.... The sentences can be in English.

Message to 7 & 8 FILA Parents regarding Home Learning

Hello Parents and Guardians,

I have posted the message below for students regarding assignments in TEAMS. I have had numerous requests for extra time or extensions. I have therefore decided in order to give ample time and to accomodate all schedule types, that from now until we go back to school, I will post assignments for FILA on Tuesday mornings by noon and the deadline will be Monday night 7pm of the following week. This should allow for everyone to be able to access and ease some stress at home. With this being said however, please have students complete their assignments by this time. This is important, otherwise, students will find it difficult to keep up when we return to face to face learning. Furthermore, by having students meet deadlines, it teaches them the value of adhering to deadlines, which is a reali life skill and something that will become mandatory later on in schooling ie grades 9-12. If for whatever reason a deadline will be missed, students must be responsible for reaching out and letting me know about their specific situations. This is required as it is also a way to foster responsibility and practice a real life skill.

From TEAMS-For this assignment-READ THE INSTRUCTIONS-as there are very precise and explains how this assignment must be turned in. I will not be accepting things by chat or email anymore as this tends to get lost and takes me hours to sort through and see who has done what and who has not. Therefore, do the assignment in TEAMS and then hit turn in when done. If you are not done, then hit save and it will save it for you to keep working on next time. You will also notice that I have given you until next Monday at 7pm to complete this assignment. This is to accommodate everyone's schedules. From now on, I will be posting new assignments on Tuesday morning by 12pm and accepting by 7pm on Monday night of the following week. This way all schedules can be accommodated and there should be no late assignments.

Message to 7&8 FILA Students

This is a message for students, reposted here from Teams in case students check here first.

Hi everyone! I have had several requests for extensions on your Business Drafts. You may all have them if you need them until Monday at 4pm. For those of you who handed it in, Thank you for meeting your deadlines. There will be no work for FILA/Social Studies on my Monday that is new other then handing in the Business Plans and videos for those of you who have not finished your work. It is very important for you to get the online work done while we are all at home as I will be picking up from there when we return to face to face and it will be hard to catch up. If you have not had the chance to do the Power Play assignments this week, please use this weekend to get caught up:) Have a good weekend and if you have a question, message me and I will do my best to answer over the weekend.

Online Learning-FILA 7 & 8-November 2-5 2021

Hello all!

I will continue to post here so parents can check up on where their kiddos should be for my classes as what I post on Teams is in French and for students. I have posted an assignment that is to be the written 2nd draft rough copies of their business plan for Power Play. This is a cross curricular assignment for French and Sciences Humaines. Within the document is step by step instructions on how to fill it out and where to find the information from their Power Play books. As always, students are encouraged to send me an email with any questions or set up a video chat if that is easier. Please email-nadia.arsenault@nbed.nb.ca for anymore questions.

It is due Friday, November 5th at the end of the day. I have attached the document for parents to be able to view it:)

Home Learning-Monday November 1st 2021 for Grade 7 & 8 FILA

Hello!

For Monday, for both FILA and Sciences Humaines I am asking students to please work on their Power Play projects. They should have their books with them and should know where they are at with their individual projects. I have uploaded instructions for this to the Teams sites for Sciences Humaines for students. Students are encouraged to make sure they have their financial and marketing plans finished or near completion. Most of the class was done this as of yesterday, so I would ask that for those who are done, that they work on finalizing their prototypes and or turning their prototypes into their products. They can work on making the number of units they have determined that they are going to make.

French Summer Camp Opportunity-Virtual

Grade 6 Sciences Humaines-TEST-2 February 2021

Hi there!

As I have explained to my students today, I do not give homework often, but when I do it is for a project or a test and this time it is a test, much to my students chagrin and groans heard around the room today. However, I want this to be a positive learning experience for students. Therefore, students have notes and a study guide. We are focusing on proper studying techniques and finding out what works for them. They were shown today how to make and use study cards with index cards and many were excited to try this strategy. All have put them in their book bags and are asked to bring them back to class as in the next two weeks we will be studying and reviewing in class as well.

I am also attaching the notes with the study guide in case parents would like a copy or someone forgets this book at school.

I am not telling students when to study at home ie not nightly for this amount of time. I am telling students they should be studying at least 20 minutes or more at a time 4-5 times a week until the test on the 2nd of February 2021.

Grade 6 Sciences Humaines-Finish Assignment

Hello!

This is a note to let parents know that students have had the last two weeks in class, including today to finish up the project portion of their interview project and culture. Many students are done, but some do require more time either by need or choice. I have extended their due date to tomorrow afternoon, in order to allow students finish up tonight. Most should need no more than 15-30 minutes at most to finish. They are to turn it in on the assignment provided in the FI Social Studies Team. They have all be taught how to do this. Tell them to make sure they have added their ppt to the "add work" button and then hit turn in.
